چکیده

The characteristics of smartphone addiction (SPA) can be evaluated by neuroimaging studies. Information on the brain structural alterations, and effects psychosocial wellbeing, however, have not been concurrently evaluated. aim this study was to identify abnormalities in gray matter volume using voxel-based morphometry (VBM) neuronal functional alterations resting-state MRI (rs-fMRI) emerging adults with SPA. We correlated parameters indices for wellbeing such as depression, anxiety, stress, impulsivity. Forty participants (20 SPA 20 age-matched healthy controls) were assessed VBM rs-fMRI. scale – Malay version (SAS-M) questionnaire scores used categorize control groups. DASS-21 BIS-11 questionnaires assess impulsivity, respectively. identified group reduced insula precentral gyrus; increased grey precuneus relative controls. Moderate correlation observed between SAS-M scores. Individuals showed significant rs-fMRI activations precuneus, posterior cingulate cortex (FWE uncorrected, p<0.001). severity depression. Anxiety score moderately GMV at gyrus. Collectively, these results postulate that changes are linked neurobiology shares similarities other behavioural addictions.

Brain resting-state functional MRI connectivity: Morphological foundation and plasticity

Despite the immense ongoing efforts to map brain functional connections and organizations with resting-state functional MRI (rsfMRI), the mechanisms governing the temporally coherent rsfMRI signals remain unclear. In particular, there is a lack of direct evidence regarding the morphological foundation and plasticity of these rsfMRI derived connections. In this study, we investigated the role of...

Structural and Functional Brain Remodeling during Pregnancy with Diffusion Tensor MRI and Resting-State Functional MRI

Although pregnancy-induced hormonal changes have been shown to alter the brain at the neuronal level, the exact effects of pregnancy on brain at the tissue level remain unclear. In this study, diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) and resting-state functional MRI (rsfMRI) were employed to investigate and document the effects of pregnancy on the structure and function of the brain tissues. Fifteen Spra...

The emerging neurobiology of calorie addiction

The response of the brain to sugar is determined by specific cell populations in the brain, including neurons that secrete melanin-concentrating hormone, and culminates in the release of dopamine.

Decoding Lifespan Changes of the Human Brain Using Resting-State Functional Connectivity MRI

The development of large-scale functional brain networks is a complex, lifelong process that can be investigated using resting-state functional connectivity MRI (rs-fcMRI). In this study, we aimed to decode the developmental dynamics of the whole-brain functional network in seven decades (8-79 years) of the human lifespan. We first used parametric curve fitting to examine linear and nonlinear a...

Fractal-based Correlation Analysis for Resting State Functional Connectivity of the Rat Brain in Functional MRI

The most studies on functional connectivity have been done by analyzing the brain s hemodynamic response to a stimulation. On ’ the other hand, the low-frequency spontaneous fluctuations in the blood oxygen level dependent (BOLD) signals of functional MRI have been observed in the resting state. However, the BOLD signals in resting state are significantly corrupted by huge noises arising from c...
